WHO WE ARE The Big Sur Workforce Housing Group (BSWHG) is a committee of the Coast Property Owners Association (CPOA). It is made up of interested community members - including employers and employees, landowners and renters – working together to build innovative solutions for creating more workforce housing in Big Sur.

PURPOSE
Our desired outcome is to create more opportunities for community members working in Big Sur to live in the same community in which they work. In addition, we want to provide opportunities for older adults who have worked in Big Sur for much of their lives to remain in Big Sur as long as they choose. Any new housing development or renovations of existing housing will utilize the following principles:
ü Affordability
ü Sustainable building practices with minimal impact on the land
ü Design that is “of the land and not on the land”
ü Built with respect to the land preservation goals of the local community and property owners
We welcome the input of Big Sur community members.
